Ron Bowman practices principally corporate and commercial law, helping small to medium-sized businesses deal with all manner of legal problems and opportunities. He also has extensive experience in high profile business environments with international scope and a variety of business units, where in addition to the law department he has been responsible for both corporate secretarial and insurance functions, served on crisis management and environmental committees, and overseen the management of an extensive portfolio of international trade-marks and patents. Ron understands the operating challenges of a regulated industry, and also is well versed in broadcast rights agreements involving both radio and television. He has acted as counsel to two Canadian professional sports franchises and several internationally recognized sporting events, and was an alternate governor of the National Hockey League for eight years.

Ron attended the University of Saskatchewan, receiving his B.A. in 1965 and his LL.B. in 1966. He began his career with a Regina law firm where he gained broad experience in all facets of the private practice of law. He left his general practice to work as a solicitor for a national Canadian retailer, and then moved to the legal department of a major Canadian brewer where he served for twenty-one years, the last seven as Vice-President & General Counsel.

Ron’s memberships include the Law Society of Upper Canada, the Law Society of Saskatchewan, the Canadian Bar Association, and Credit Valley Golf Club.
